Roomate and I like the same guy...
Pretty much the title explains everything. We both started crushing on the same guy. I tried talking to her about it, but she didn't seem to understand what I was getting at. I'm pretty sure the guy likes me, he's always holding me and getting cutesy with me, and she's starting to almost get angry/jealous over it. I've done everything to try and distance myself from the situation and the guy, but it's difficult to do when we live in a dormitory and he lives around the corner. -
A common and frustrating situation in dorms. Just try to be honest about it, and if one of you starts actively dating him, the other should stay away. Keep it in perspective too - this is a nice guy you have a crush on, but not the love of your life. Likely if he starts dating one of you it will only last a while then break up -certainly that's the way to bet. Remember that the whole point of dating is fun - don't get so stressed that it isn't fun anymore. -
I had two good friends like me at the same time. They made me choose and I never knew. They came to an agreement that if I picked one over the other, it wouldn't affect their friendship and the other one would back off me. We all hung out with one of my buddies and went to the state fair. I had already chosen and that day made it even more clear. We all remained friends and they stayed close.
I didn't find out until a year or so later. The friend I didn't pick told me that she had to get it off her chest that she was into me. She told me about their arrangement. If she hadn't opened her mouth I would have never known. It was funny because I thought she was out of my league because she was a little older and more sophisticated. I doubt that I would have chosen her if I had known, but I don't know.
Maybe you all could try something like that. If you go to war over it you'll come off weak and may run him off from both of you. It's really to your advantage if you think that your the one he likes already."Those sowing seed with tears
Will reap with a joyful shout." - Psalm 126Comment
