    Why relationships lead to sex?

I've always been thinking.. Guys woo girls for love or for their own needs?

If we are happy with one another. Why can't we remain as friends. Why he wants me to be his gf? Is it only for sex or physical stuffs?

    hey ariel,
well as you may know guys are hard wired for sex. i have gone through many relationships when i was younger thinking that the guy loves me but i was wrong. yes i have had guys that dated me just because of sex but now i'm married to a wonderful man and he loves me for me and not just sexual purposes. my sister is getting married tomorrow to a man she has never had sex with. hard to believe i know especially if you knew my sisters track record. she has been married and divorced 3 times and she is only 36 years old. she also has 3 kids from 3 different men. she does have her fair share of baggage if you know what i mean but she has found a wonderful man who can look past all of that including sex to marry her and love her for who she is. so i know it is possible and does happen. not all men are sex machines and careless. you have to be patient you can find someone wonderful. Lynne

if you want him as only a friend, tell him that..if he quits hanging out with you then he was probably looking for a physical relationship..in my experience many of the girls i dating started out as long term friends..once you get to know each other it often progresses to something more..

Yeah, he might be stubborn about it for a time, but, take it from me, sooner or later we get the idea.

Love and sex are very tangled in the minds of most people. Assuming you are straight, could you really fall in love with someone of the same sex? Want to spend lots of time with them, give them back-rubs when they are stressed, have quiet candle-lit dinners together?

I think people can certainly be friends without sex - but I don't think love works without sex (or at least sexual attraction).

A lot of friendships between men and women have a sexual component - not sex, not even touching - but a low level flirtation.
