    Hey Caroline,

Hereditary....well i dont know anyone in his family that could be an AA not even his dad or grandpa... but i have noticed that his cousins do drink every weekend... another thing that i have notice...me and him live about 3 housed down from his mom and he has a sister that lives in Katy about 30 min away I’ve notice that his mom rarely calls him to see how his doing not even on his birthday he got a single call i had talked to her about her sons drinking and ever since that talk she never has asked me how her son is doing it seems that his mom doesn’t really care about him and well about his sister out of the 1 year that I’ve been with him I’ve seen and talked to her 3 or 4 times...crazy huh i never did believe that there was families that where so detached from their love ones.

Please understand that I am saying that this could be a cause..It is not necessarily a Father or Uncle...It can go back two generations...My husband and I hardly drink but....his Father was a drunk and my Father died while drinking boiler makers...Their genes reached far and wide and all of our children have not been blessed as dearly as we have and let's face it life is a ***** for some and the escape route is plainly marked...It says...Come in...We are friendly people.....We will take you to places where people do not worry......We are your friend....So a bottle can be a friendly escape to the land of Oz that they desire....So goes life..

He may just be drinking because he enjoys it...Maybe he learned to like it but it is when they like it too much and it becomes too regular a part of their life and they miss it, that you notice some of the caution signs of life.
