When I was in undergrad, we thought it was hilarious to buy each other sex toys. As I work on my holiday shopping, I have several friends and a cousin who would probably love a nice sex toy…but I’m wondering if that’s just too weird.

I’m curious to know if any of you gift sex toys to people you aren’t sexually involved with, outside of say, a bachelorette.
if you’ve got a good story about it, I’d love to hear it.

Well, I often gift things to friends but it's usually more of a "pick whatever you guys want out of this box" since it's overflow (stuff I get that's just freebies and promos).

Although I DID put together (what I thought was) a fun gift for a newlywed couple a few years back. Lots of goodies, flavored lubes, all kinds of stuff they could use together, along with a bottle of wine.

(As it turns out, they divorced less than a year later but it had nothing to do with the gift... LOL)

But I don't think gifting sex toys is weird if 1) you know the person well enough to pick something that would work for them and 2) they either have a sense of humor OR you know they use sex toys and might want to try something new, or even unexpected.

Oh, wow! I don't know how I missed this thread!

My "bestie", I would never think of gifting sex toys to...but! The nurses I currently work with are a really odd and beautiful mix of people, and one in particular, I would absolutely gift a sex toy if I get her name in the Christmas exchange.

My man made a pie for my birthday, and I would never indulge in the whole pie, so I took the remaining pie to work. One of them said, "good lord, does he **** as well as he cooks?" I would absolutely get this woman a fun and otherwise inappropriate toy for Christmas. She constantly makes comments that are ok, in the setting of all women. She seems to know where to stop.

Never really thought about it, but I would absolutely gift a sex toy, if the person and the occasion were right! This is such a fun idea!

I would def, do that as well! Maybe not to my male friends as that's sorta weird since most male sex toys are...I dunno, just a lot more gag-ish...which on second thought, perhaps that is a great reason to gift them one -- if only to see the reaction on their face!

But since a lot of toys are really expensive, that would probably be a big waste as they'd never use it, so I am more inclined to gift a sex toy to a female friend, of which I have in the past!
