long term relationships
Just have a quick question, i am 18 and i have been with my boyfriend for about a year, and i really love him...but we are both going to different uni's this year and we are going to be about 6 hours apart! We have a strong relationship, and rarely argue, and even when we do it is over things that we quickly solve. I know people may say that we are too young, or that we have not been together long enough to really know each other, but we have known each other since we were each 11, and have been good friends for about 2 yrs before we started dating, however when we first became close we were both in relationships with different people. He has always made me laugh and i have always been able to trust him with anything. Anyone have any experience in long term relationships??
any help would be appreciated -
This is pretty common and there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to continue a long distance relationship...However, I think it would be easier on you both if you were to demote your relationship from exclusive to best friends. You are young, and believe it or not you are going to change. He is going to change. I am not the same person who I was at 18 (which was 15 yrs ago... holy sh*t I'm getting old) ok, I wasn't the same person at 21 that I was at 18. The point is that this a new begining time for you. You are going to go off to school, meet new people and discover who you really are. (hopefully where you fit in this world) You are about to embark what is truley the start of your life and you already have the one? I'm not saying it's not worth continuinng just might be easier not too. Ultimately, only you can analyze this relationship and make a determination in the direction you want it to go.
Good luck to you and have fun at school -
I met my husband at 19....He was in the Navy....We fell madly in love...In the two years and 28 days before I married him, I saw him exactly 47 days in total.....Letters, telephone calls and a feeling of passion between two people that never stopped.......Yes honey.....There is a Santa Claus....My best to you...CarolineComment

hmmm
I agree with Damd, 6 hours and being in different colleges also being around so many different people is definitely gonna change u guys. Look at it this way, if you guys decide to break it off and stay friends before it turns into a nasty break up and then finish school and you find theres no one else you rather be with than him and vice versa you guys were meant to be! In any case best of luck! The only place success comes before work is in the dictionaryComment
