    Hi Kel, nice photo.

This is sad in your case because, he basically cancelled his account for that time because let's face it, "fear" that you would not go ahead with the marriage? Do the right thing and then, the moment your married, "i can do what i want attitude" you are married to me now.

That is how I see your situation be it right or wrong.

I have no idea what to suggest to anyone in this regard because it seems to be something that no one can break once totally "controlled", into this situation.

I feel for you, 1 month only and having to go through this rubbish.

What did you say to him to make him stop a month before your wedding?

    Is he working?

It amazes me the amount of heartache WoW has created. I also played the game and i enjoyed it while my BF and I played. The fun part of the game was meeting new people and I feel meeting some of those people helped me and i hope i helped some of them.

I guess it was fun because it was never about the gear or the money for me. It was the social interaction of it all. It was about creating a strong guild that helped one another. I agree it takes a lot of time to play and there is a level of commitment when you join a guild.

I only hope all my old guildies are doing great

I hope your heart heals from the neglect you feel and the neglect your kids felt. I guess like any thing that does go out of balance it hurts everyone involved not just the junkie.

I hope those who are having trouble with their husbands playing figure out what they need to do. It really sucks that they are so addicted. Like I said, I play, but I don't let it control my life. My husband and I have a great relationship. I would never put a game ahead of my family. I think it's selfish that someone would put a game ahead of their family. It must be something weird with men, because you don't hear many guys saying "My wife is addicted to WoW and our marriage is falling apart." I think men are more easily addicted to internet, video games, ect.

I have to say when my boyfriend and I met and started getting serious
          'the game
' became a problem. He worked on an oil rig and was gone for 6 weeks at a time. Well he'd come to visit me and stay on WOW all day long while I was at work and then I'd come home and he'd be on it until I went to bed. It caused a HUGE problem. He does have an addictive personality as I"ve learned over the years. It got better though. We have great communication and have worked it out. I now play BUT it doesn't control my life. I'm not very good at it so that probably helps. We have agreed that once we have a baby we will both stop playing. We are getting married next year and have been together 4 years. We play WOW together on our days off when we have time. BUT we also put time aside to do things "together".
I have read threads about ppl having their relationships fall apart as well. In fact one of my guildies was kicked out of the house and is now living out of his car because of his addiction. Haven't heard from him since he was kicked out. It's sad about video games. I personally had never played one until I met my fiance. He never pushed me to play I just became curious about it and it looked sort of fun.

Yep, it is the game, this happened to my hubby as well but he was addicted to a game call GOW, gears of war.... He has passed the game at least 20 times and now all he does it play it online with others. It took me a while but we compromised and he is only allowed to play it Sundays and I let him play all day. Seems to be working but the sex issues is another story, we have not had sex for months. I am working at this at the moment and if anyone has any ideas please let me know?

              WoW and Marriage

I play WoW. I'm a married woman. Some say I'm addicted to WoW. I probably am. But let me tell you a few things.

You cannot blame a game for your husband's not spending time with you.

My marriage of 10 years is just about over. I use WoW to escape the stupid that my husband puts me through.

He says things to me that makes me crazy and want to hit him. But the violence didn't start because of WoW. It happened before WoW. Just got worse after WoW. Everything is my fault. Or so I'm told. I don't do anything. Or so I'm told. I get hit by him, and then feel like I deserved it because of what he says to me. I hit him first. It's very volatile. I like to think he will change his ways. I have always been the one who works while he sits at home and plays video games. Since I started playing WoW, he has gotten a taste of his own medicine. Neither of us work. I get to go to court today for eviction notice. I don't really care because, I have somewhere to go.

Because of WoW, he broke a router, two of my mouses so I couldn't play. Has beaten me. Oh, I fight back. Trust me. I do. But I'd take another beating just so I can play WoW.

I have had eight 'romances' with other WoW players. Why? Because they make me feel good. They give me what I dont get at home. And I know the same is true for the men out there who play WoW. My current romanc is very serious, and I do plan on being with this man.

I'm a gamer. I married a gamer. He doesnt game anymore. He has changed. I have not. We grew apart and that distance caused some ugly things to happen.

"If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, it was meant to be."

I'll never stop playing WoW for anyone. I have three level 80s. Working on my fourth.

But seriously ladies, if your man is not paying attention to you because of WoW, then something is missing. They are getting it from there, because its something you cannot or will not provide. Don't blame a game. Look into the relationship and see whats wrong.

Mine, cannot be fixed. Maybe you will get lucky and will be able to.

                  WoW

Hi, I feel for you. It wasn't until today that I finally snapped out of my denial stage and looked into the seriousness of addictive behavior involving "gamers". It has been 3 wks. since I last heard from my fiance (or so I thought), someone I've known for 20 yrs. and very close w/ his family, and I think I've lost him in the vortex of WoW. I kept making up excuses as to why when we would talk on the phone (we had a bi-coastal relationship) all I would hear in the background was the tap tap tap of the mouse and him putting me on hold to talk to his gaming buddies to "set up for an attack". Or why when I'd visit, waking up in the morning would be immediately putting the game on, even before going to the restroom, and then playing throughout the day (if I was there) and literally ALL day when I wasn't there. I even saw a text message from his 10 yr old child (living on opposite coast) begging for the child to hear the dad just say, I love you. His own mother believed that his priority of gaming and defensive attitude about it, was effecting parts of his life. This is a person who hadn't vacuumed his home in over a year because of the gaming... oh and did I mention he is a Doctor. I know there will be lots of responses to this such as it's not the game and it's the persons traits/values that are the true issues, and I totally agree. But it's just sad in any case when any addictive behavior destroys loving relationships, hurts children, and leaves people feeling betrayed and hurt. I had a life planned with this person and although friends for 20 yrs, mates for only 6 months, he conned me through the discourse of love all the while bringing the freaky fantasy world of maliciousness and harm to real life. Sulking and sad... but know it's better this way. Just don't quite understand it.

I look at this thread every once in a while and just shake my head. Addictive behavior can develop around almost anything but these games are designed to promote it. They are anti-social, sorry but choosing "on-line" personas over real people is a problem. People need to touch and be touched and interact to be healthy. WoWgirls defensiveness about this is indicative of how extreme the behavior gets. How do these people support their habits? I can't imagine that they are good workers or employees.

There was a case in the news recently of someone being charged with theft over game activity. Apparently he was cohersing people (on-line, not real life) into giving some sort of "stuff" in the game, that he was selling. It is an escape. My ex played Doom and other games for hours on end. That one isn't interactive but the behavior was much the same in that he became increasingly withdrawn, foul tempered and his exsisting anti social tendencies became more pronounced.

This just isn't healthy behavior at any level.
