I'd like to hear how things are going as well.
I'm glad you left and are staying with a friend, it's good he'sgetting help.
If you do try to start another relationship with this man (in the extremely distant future I hope) make sure he has changed.
I'm talking dating for a couple of years before making a commitment to this man again. It's going to be extremely hard for you to trust him again if ever.
Just be very careful sweetie.Comment

PLEASE LEAVE...i myself have NEVER been in your shoes and i never will be because of what i saw my mother go through. my mom's boyfriend at the time would constantly beat her up and then apologize the next day. i saw my mom get beat in from of me and can remember it vividly, even though it happened over 10 years ago. A man would never put his hands on a woman, only cowards. i pray that you will remain strong.Comment

Leave Him
Take the advice all the people here and leave him, I can just imagine how tough it will be to do but save yourself. I have been married to a great wife for 12 years and I never hit her in any way. We have a couple of good arguments over the years and I have to admit that most of them were because I was being goof, but I never once hit her. This not a thing can continue, no mather what happened hitting is not the right answer.Comment

Do not stay in this relationship. Any amount of "I'm sorry" IS NOT worth it. I work in human services, and a big part of it is domestic violence. They will tell you they are "sorry" every time, just to get you to stay. You do not deserve to be hit, spit on, verbally abused, mentally abused, and whatever else he may be putting you through. Get out while you can! Don't listen to any empty promises made by him! It will only get worse if you don't get out. He may promise he'll "get help", but you just can't risk that.Comment
