    If he is only visiting some of the time, its not that big of an issue. But if the boy is living with them full-time, well, I would hate not to ever be able to sleep with my partner. It is a great bond strengthener. And to be good parents, they need to feel bonded. Plus, for me, sex is a very important part of keeping a healthy relationship. Sex is hard when you are either sleeping with a small child in the bed or alone. Also, I like to sleep naked, always have.

    I am just too used to my own and my sisters's upbringing. We were taught to be pretty independent, and to believe that no means no. Every family works differently, I certainly understand that. I think I identify with the OP because she sounds like she has similar beliefs of child rearing and relationships as I do.
