On another note - yeah - he's not "remembering" because then he would have to change. He doesn't want to change, it's convenient for him. You are keeping a roof over his head, bills are being paid, why should he change. He needs a HUGE wake up call.

I have watched my mom go through this with my stepfather for almost 12 years, it gets to her all the time. He does drink every day after he gets home from work, and when he's at work he's the perfect professional, only few know of his faults. Over the past few years my mom has learned a few tricks, sometimes she'll walk out and go for a car ride, or basically go hide in another room until he's done with his ranting, the house is pretty big so it would take him a while to find her lol. None of us kids are in the home anymore so obviously he directs everything towards her. Now since this has been going on forever, we decided a long time ago to name that drunking nasty personality, we call him chucky when he's like that. So usually the next day when she wakes up, she goes downstairs, calls him chucky, and makes him feel like the scum of the earth. And of course the apologies start. Now she goes right back at him, it has been happening less frequently over the years. Sometimes, go right back at him, call him things that you never thought would come out of his mouth. Turn it around on him, things will change, maybe not quickly and maybe it wont go away forever but it's a start.Comment

In some states it does not matter whos name something is in, it would be considered community property after you have been married for a certain number of years. You need to check about the house before you do anything rash. I would have him removed. If you leave, he might get to keep the house as considered abandiment. Making a tape would be a good idea for an attorney to see. Great evidence.Comment
