    I just want to say

That I have the best husband in the world! We have been together a year and a half and I couldn't be more happy. All these posts about these other husbands and boyfriends make me feel upset. If I could clone my husband, I would! I was in the same shoes as some of you. I have been in abusive relationships, both physical & mental, I have had the man who is so lazy and won't help around the house...

My husband cooks, cleans, takes care of the kids, and we both work full time jobs! I get butterflies to this day everytime I see him! I couldn't ask for a better mate. He completes me (as corny as that sounds)... And I just wanted to share that with all of you.

Every one of you deserves the best. Don't just settle on what's there. You deserve to be treated as an equal and like you matter. You should be able to be yourself and be spoiled! It takes two to make a relationship work remember, so if they aren't holding up their end of the bargain they need to go down the road!!!

That's great to hear. My DH sounds exactly the same (well no kids...yet) so I know your feeling somewhat although I hadn't had the abusive relationship or anything, just occasional date (not looked upon too favorably in Japanese family).

While I believe karma dictates what happens to us in all our aspects of life and who we end up with (including what kind of people we meet and what experiences with them we have), I do wish happiness to everyone as that's all any of us are really looking for...love, understanding, friendship, and trust (good sex is a bonus)

      Cheers!

You are really lucky to have a loving partner. There are many reasons women stay in abusive relationships. Some have no choice and others like me stay for love. It is very difficult to forgo a relationship to which you've given so much for years. It's like doing a business. If things go bad we try to keep the business going, don't we? So in relationships also we try till the end till we see no hope of recovery.
There are moments in life which get etched in memory & there are those wonderful people who never leave your heart.

I totally understand. I, like you stayed in a relationship way longer than I should have for "LOVE." We had a child together and we together for almost 7 years. Then I realized that if he loved me the way that I loved him, the abuse wouldn't have happened. Abuse does not equal love. I am all for saving a relationship, if it can be saved. But putting up with abuse just because you "love" someone is unfair. That is not love. To each their own I guess, I am not in your situation, but I wish you the best of luck.

My fiance is loving as well. It's just the past few months when he became abusive as he bacame insecure. He realises later that he's wrong and makes it up.And I just can't leave him because i love him.

i so agree, i thought i loved my ex husband so put with his carp for years, but i think now i felt it was all i deserved, when i felt i deserved better i got better treatment. the man i am with now is so good to me and my daughter. i am sorry i spent all those years being treated badly when i deserved better.
