I am reading all these posts (including mine) and one thing stands out as clear as day: we are ignored, humiliated, hurt, thrown aside, trampled on, lied to, ignored some more, cheated on, rejected.... and yet we strive to give some more love, to try harder, to try and understand THEIR side... my word, why don't we get it? why don't we women see that these men we are complaining about are not good for us? Why do we take the rejection of porn games, of cheating, of being told to choose between your kids and your husband, why do we take this punishment? Why can't we just up and leave? They obviously couldn't care less whether we were in their lives or not. Why do we care so much? And I am asking this to myself too... Am I that scared? Of what? being alone? Isn't rejection while your boyfriend plays porn games or cheats on you worse than being alone? Will being alone really be worse for me when I leave? I won't have to live 2 lives in one anymore, I wouldn't have to worry about him ignoring my other 2 children and wouldn't have to hear how I "caught" him? I wouldn't have to wait for an "I love you" that just isn't coming. Why in this world do I stay??
we stay because we love that person and if you love them enough you live for the hope that everything will work out?Comment

I ask myself this everyday
I just read your post and it sounds like things I say in my head everyday. My family and fiends tell me to get him out of my life everyday so I can start the healing process. This is my second marriage and I do know what to expect. But, I guess I think this is the day things will change and I will be happy or at least I have someone to take care of.. If I was alone, the house would be so empty, but I would have freedom. I am afraid to say the words...i am leaving. it seems when I start to pull away..he knows and says what I want to hear and then I have hope..It is gone in a few days when I know he has been to his girlfriends house. Maybe it is fear..I am so afraid to be alone.....Comment

People are so frightened of being alone - but I think it is better than being with someone you don't love and trust. I don't think you will be alone for long.
I've been married almost 25 years now. During that time, without trying at all, I've met at least 5 women who I got along with so well that I could have imagined marrying them. I'm not looking, not planning to leave, and my relationship with these women never went beyond friendship - but I got the sense that it could have. If I had been looking I expect I would have found more.Comment

you dont have to stay!!! I had my husband arrested yesterday and felt so guilty, he beat me (only the 4th time in 14 years!) but I have now realised he will never change. My husband cheated on me with three women, I took him back, he looked at porn all night, was on Facebook to other women, gave me the silent treatment for weeks (not days) on end, he worked one day a week (we own our own business) while me and our 17 staff did the rest, he bragged to the people in the pub about how much money he had, how he was set up for life, you know what, I'll see where he is in a year or two years time, I know where I'll be. Thats NOT being treated like a doormat, you dont have to put up with it, the inner person comes out sooner or later, you are a good, strong person. Do you have children? Gather your self respect, pick yourself up, there are some good men out there who WILL respect you! Once you leave, meet someone else and be loved, you will realise you never were loved by the *********** that you're with! Stay strongComment
