    lied to on valetines day!

well i'm hurt, today me, my hubby, & a friend went out & on the ride home we were talking about lies. i said i could tell wen aaron (hubby) was lying for the most part, he challenged me on that & said wen was the last time he lied to me. i told him & he said wrong he lied to me yesterday!

BACKGROUND: yesterday we repainted my car & i noticed a dent/medium nick in my hood. i asked him how it happened & he said he didn't know. i mentioned 2 more times later in the day yesterday (just bothered by it) & he said maybe it was a rock, he didn't know.

MORE BACKGROUND: i love my car very much, many ppl may not understand that but it is my hobby & i love my car as much as i love my dog. i wouldn't give it up for ne amount of money! my car is extremely important to me! it is my baby! his car is the same to him, but we care about each more than our cars.

ne ways continuing, he told me that he lied to me yesterday about the dent & he told me that he did it! he got angry while working outside & he threw a chop saw blade or something & it landed on the hood of my car......the only reason he told me was because he had to prove me wrong about the "i can tell wen he is lying" thing to our buddy.

then wen we got home & our buddy left, i told him he really hurt me that he lied to me about it! he said he didn't tell me cause he didn't think it was that big of a deal. which is yet another lie because 1. he said in the car on the way home he didn't tell me cause he didn't want me to b upset & 2. if he thought it wasn't a big deal, y lie about it in the first place!
he said he was embarrassed about wat he did, so he didn't tell me.

i'm really hurt right now, i'm not even bothered by the dent but i'm extremely hurt that he lied to me & lied about the lie! i understand the dent was an accident & they happen. but i have had accidents with some of his things including the his car (lost a bolt, hit or scratched the car by accident) & they were embarrassing but i told him even if i fixed it because it was his car, computer.....ect. & it was the right thing to do. the only things i have ever lied to him about was presents, u know like wat he was getting for christmas, b-day, so on & so forth. he says it isn't a big deal but it is! it really is. this not the valentines i wanted....
now we r arguing & i'm crying my eyes out

I'm sorry sweetie. Ugh there is that male pack mentality I was talking about in another thread. He was willing to hurt your feelings to prove a point to his buddy that you can't tell when he's lying... without even thinking about how that will come across to you 1. That he has lied about something he thinks you weren't able to notice and 2.. that he is almost proud of the fact he can lie without you knowing (at least to his buddy) -- neither can make you feel good.

But sweetie from everything you said, you have a good man. He loves you, he cares about you, he sounds like he may be a little immature sometimes... but aren't we all? What he said and did was foolish, he obviously didn't think that one through.

Don't let him trying to impress his buddy ruin your valentines day. You deserve to be happy, let him know how you feel about the lies... if he appologises though, I think today's is the day you should go ahead and accept that seeing as how it was an accident, and he lied likely to not feel stupid to you, and then pulled this stunt with the buddy to look cool to him.

Bad behavior, but nothing showing he doesn't love you and today's about love.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

HD is right, dont let this one transgression ruin an otherwise nice day. No, he shouldnt have lied about damaging your car, but how many people are really that quick to admit they did something wrong?

more importantly, how does your baby look with the new paint job?

        Wow, wicked

Hey sweet, remember guys don't see "Valentines Day" as we see it, well most of them okay.

You commented, he commented back that's all.

Sure, he lied, but maybe that's immaturity on his behalf, not knowing as he said, how to say it.

So tell him in future, you want to know the truth, no matter how good or bad, because it's needed in a Marriage

          Sweety:
Yeah, cool ride! You and your hubby do that work yourself? Very nice. Very cool to be able to work on something together too!
Anytime I've put my hand to mechanical work I've been left with a basket of spare parts, busted knuckles and a non-functional piece of equipment. Doesn't matter what it is, car, clothes dryer, leaky toilet,,, all turns to when I touch it!

Glad you're not letting the lying thing overwhelm the good stuff.Take care!

yeah he knows now that he cant do that & that i won't tolerate it, he is missing some of the finer details but i don't mind as long as he understands not to lie, which he does.

& thanks for the car comments! i work hard on my lilly (that's my car lol). yes me & the hubby did that at home. i love digging my hands into cars, i'm a grease monkey & a modder! o & btw p, those spare parts...they r only there to confuses u lol if u don't have spare parts then u did something wrong lmao

starting a new thread, my life is becoming a tangled mess! ugh
