What is your favorite thing about being married?
Looking for some POSITIVE answers here. I know I am also one to come on here and talk about my problems, but there have to be SOME happy couples out there! Tell me what I have to look forward to! (Not sure when... but whether things work out with my current bf, or I have a future prince charming, I would like to get married sometime.) -
My favorite thing about being married ( if you take out answers like:my wife, her smile, the smell of her in our bed, etc, etc, etc) would be the freedom that it gives me when talking to women at work. They see the wedding ring, I almost always mention my wife in any conversation there are pictures of her all through my office,,,,so women know that when they talk to me it is just another "human being" not chester the molester looking for a pickup. It seems to define aND FREE THE CONVERSAtion in a Way thAT DID NOT OCCUR WHEN i WAS SINGLE. -
My wife and I rarely fight. I like the sense of stability and grounding. I like her family for the most part and I like her friends. Both give me access to parts of her culture that are not available by any other means as well as being good people.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, VirginiaComment

Very true though, when I was single, I always looked for a ring, so makes sense.
I definitely think the stability thing would be cool, and yeah it's fun to have more famil/friends too - as long as you like them!

Well the best thing to me about being married is to knw that you can come home to someone and have sex knwing that's the only person you've been with...Also having my kids in wedlock means a whole whole lot to me.But you knw it does has it's up and downs and really all that matters is at the end of the day you guys love each other
