Does this mean you can go through his wallet and he can go through your purse?

It's not snooping if the ground rules are that the others things are fair game or explicit assent is given. Otherwise, if you were to apply the same logic, a person having an relation with someone other than their SO would not be cheating if they did it openly, but without the others consent. It is still snooping if he hasn't agreed to it.
Does this mean you can go through his wallet and he can go through your purse?I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

You know, I tend to agree with Casey a little bit, and I have been on here something over a year now, and have read some thousands of posts I'd say - at least 10 for every one I've replied to - and I do get the feeling there's a bias in the replies. Not a huge bias, but it's there, and not less so because you're unaware of it.
But I'd never complain about it - the site is after all WOMENS-health, not Mens-health (which btw is pretty much a disaster...). So I think whatever women want to do with their site is fine - I'm just a guest!Comment

What like women standing up for women and men standing up for men?
Depends on alot of things I think, that being, what the person who is replying does..
ie) I think it would be the same on the Men's Forum.. If the person replying snoops they won't say don't snoop, if they don't snoop they would say "don't snoop".. or off course a man/woman who is peeved that his girl/man snoops will say "don't snoop".
Then there are those whom post that don't use their own experiences, rather read the thread and reply to what they think the person should do, should be doing, and not doing

I think men just aren't as interested in their S.O's phone as women tend to be. A lot of guys bury their head in the sand, don't read into signals or signs that their wife/gf may be being unfaithful... a lot of men have to be hit over the head with that or they'd fail to notice (which,.... is probably what got them in that situation , hate to say, sad but true)
Women tend to be more analytical in their relationship... they are more intuitive and can notice when their man's mood is off... they can notice when he is being distanct and some actually even care about that... and want to get to the root of the problem, snooping is wrong and bad, we all know that - but it is what it is.
You almost will never hear a woman come on here and say... you know what , my boyfriend has been SO awesome, he's been making me feel special and loved and I decided to snoop his phone out. No... the scenerio is usually more like... my guy who usually wants sex once a day hasn't touched me in 3 weeks, he's been working late every other night but comes home smelling like booze, he usually never cares about his phone but lately he's been muting calls and keeping it attached to his hip... so i snooped his phone.
No it does not make it right... but thats generally how those things get started.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.Comment

I so agree.

Women usually don't mind having their phones checked, because they usually don't have naked or half naked photos of guys they know on it. Be it because they don't want to or because they know how to hide it better. It's more acceptable for men to behave like that and not having to worry about naked photos on their phones (that's just an example).
I personally don't feel it's that bad if a man goes through his girl's phone. Sure, it's violence of privacy in one sense, but in another sense it tells me that he cares or is worried about something. First time a guy went through my phone I was very upset, I felt he had no right to do so. But in serious relationships one must be prepared for something like that to happen at some stage, sooner or later. People have weaknesses and bad days that make them need to check through their SO's phone at times.Comment

i guess you could say that....he will and me his wallet so i can get someting for him and if i see something that is new or odd i will look at it...he knows i will do it! But he will get in my wallet/purse to get something for me and if there is something he i curious aout i expect him to look at it an ask me about it!!! It isnt snooping if the other person knows you do it! We have hit a rough spot and we understand and have our own way of working things out! We both agree on the way things are done and if we didnt we would tell eachohter!
Every relationship and marriage is different just like every person is different from eachother...in my opinion if how you run your relationship works for you then that go for it!!! Because this is how we deal with ours!!!! Im not saying its Right fir everyone but it seems to be right for us!!!!! If my husband wasnt willing to let me see his phone that when i would think there was a problem! If there isnt anything to hide where is the problem??????????????Comment
