I would never dream of asking him to skate on the team, even I know that would be beyond ridiculous. Skating as a referee offers much less chance of getting hit into, you actually have to be able to skate as fast or faster then the girls to keep up but you are rarely hit into as a ref. I have rarely seen it happen, but I know there is always a chance. I will be level headed about it and if he is completely against it I will do a non skating position I just really would like the chance to skate. Thanks for all your imput

What concerns me is the injury risk given your history on this. Really would you want to go through all this pain and surgery again? Especially if another injury might mean being truly debilitated for life? Granted you could slip or trip and fall anywhere but why up the risks?
I liked the idea of training. Could you still skate and help train, more like coaching and be out of the line of fire so to speak?Comment
