My wife likes younger men, like maybe WC? My wife is 53 and I'm 46. 7 years difference at this age is no big deal. My wife actually looks younger than I do. I've aged something terrible in the past 10 years. -
I think HD has hit on the reason the best. Also college age guys may reach back to high school age girls because of greater availability and looking for someone less experienced so they can do the teaching (also a form of control). MarkT, WC and Little have good comments. If you are around 20... him going after girls a few years younger has nothing to do with looks or appeal.. you probably don't look all that much older than they do -- what its about is control, the naivity of younger girls. Like others mentioned, he probably can make a 17 year old think he's AWESOME... while an older woman , even just a few years older... could see through his game.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

I guess it's really not much of an age difference.I'm thinking it IS just his maturity level like many of you have said. He's out clubbing, partying and hooking up with other girls while i'm stuck living with my parents taking care of our 9 week old daughter. So that says a lot about him! I was just wondering why guys typically go for the younger ones...I feel bad for the next girl he rails in.Comment

Oh gosh, I remember when I was in High school.. it was like a status symbol if you were dating a cool COLLEGE guy, he's sooo much more "mature", like, TOTALLY. lol. Even the 24 year old high school drop out working at quickie mart was a total prize to us 16 year olds, he could buy BEEER and he has his own apt!! He's awesome!!
So you take a man that is meeting women his own age that aren't all that impressed, and put them in front of girls clamouring for his attention, looking up to him, thinking he's SO smart and SO sophisticated and cool... and there you've got a solid reason for why a lot of guys go for those high school girls... the younger men that is.
Because really and truly unless the man has some sort of fixation with jailbait, or get turned on by the idea of being with a teenager... there is really not much difference, looks-wise, between a 20 year old and a 17 year old. The only difference there is life experience and brain development.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.Comment
