I sometimes think being a SAHM gives a loss of sense of identity, even though being there for our children is the best thing for them.
There are many mum's that would love to be at home for their kids but feel that working maintains their sense of individuality & financial independence, making them happier and therefore believe their children are happy.
It's whatever works for the individual.
I work with my husband so we are together almost 24/7. My dependence on him is not financial but emotional, he's stronger than me (not just physically) emotionally so I feed off that when I need the confidence to take on something I might not otherwise do.
I hope you work things out & be happy

I'm 37 years old this year and I still have not gotten married. I prefer my independence and don't want to be tied down. He'd have to be a special man for me to give that up. I like to go my own way and not always emotionally support someone. I would care but I would not go too far. Of course, many people get married and are very happy but I am not that way inclined.

I agree with you. Even I'm 29 and but not looking for getting married at-least 5-6 years more.I'm 37 years old this year and I still have not gotten married. Just as good is to live in a state where your employment choices are good. That is why I moved to California. Fortunately, California has a lot of beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, some of it near me burned a couple of days ago. Now that I'm retired, I am working on moving, partly due to high state taxes. Moving to a place that you like is something you can plan on for retirement. I believe your child should be through high school at that time.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, VirginiaComment
