    The "horrible" past

My boyfriend has this weird issue with my past.
Before we got together I went out to clubs, got drunk, did drugs and slept with a few people. And I have more partners than he does (not that many, but a couple more). Before we got together he had a wife and a daughter. She's an ex-wife now and his daughter lives with us.
He keeps making these comments about my past. We were talking about abortion today (which I had one right before me and him got together and he knew it). And he was asking me about it. I answered his questions and kept on going about my business. But it's like he got mad about it (not the fact that I had an abortion). It seems like he was mad at the fact that I ever was pregnant at all. Like in his mind he's thinking somebody got my girlfriend pregnant before I did. Does that make sense?
I'm over his past, all the things he's done. I just don't understand why he can't get over mine. And he's the one who keeps bringing it up, not me.
And like he doesnt get mad at me where we're yelling and screaming. It's just like, he ignores me sorta kinda. Like I'll want to talk to him about something and he'll just give me a one word answer. Like he'll talk to me, but not like he normally does. I ask him whats wrong and tell him that we can talk about things, but he never wants to talk about it. We honestly, never yell or scream or slam doors or anything. We'll be talking, he'll get mad and he'll do that whole routine. And it's like once he's done being mad at me then he'll talk to me again. 99% of the time, I don't know why he's mad.
So... long story short, lol... How can I help him get over my past and how can I get him to open up and tell me what's bothering him?

I'm not sure how if there is a rational way to relate to an irrational person.

    Good luck with that.

That is his nature, his being, you can't.

Some guys have too many "expectations" where it comes to a "future wife", they want them to be either squeeky clean, or almost.

They have trouble accepting that another man has touched her, let alone more than one.

This is his make-up and either he gets over it, or you will move on at some point in time.

My suggestion is your past is your past, it has nothing to do with today, leave your past there on the next venture into a relationship until such time as you know that it can be discussed as two adults in communication...

It made you who you are today

As someone with a "sordid past" I understand how you feel. Before I started see my fiance I was worried that my past would be an issue in any future relationships. I was lucky that my fiance understands that the past is the past and really doesn't seem to care that my experiences were a little wilder than his, to say the least. However, it seems like your partner isn't quite as openminded, (or perhaps mine isn't as honest? LOL) and honestly, I can understand why anyone might have a hard time letting go of where their partner has been. However, that is HIS issue, not yours. The things that you did before you met him made you into the person that he loves today, and you did nothing wrong. He is the one that needs to get over his inhibitions and accept you for exactly who you are. This not talking to you game is b.s. and he needs to realize that punishing you for actions done before he was even in your life is ridiculous and only serves to damage your current relationship. I hope that he can grow up enough to see this soon. In the meantime, stay strong and remember that it's your life and they were your experiences and no one should make you feel bad about the person that you are.
        Best of luck!

I know I did nothing wrong. I have no regrets, I had an awesome time back then!! But life is better with him (sometimes....) He's still mad at me, he says nothing is bothering him. Whatever.
The big thing that gets to me is always feeling like I need to say I'm sorry. I haven't said I'm sorry, but I feel like I should. I wouldn't even know what to say sorry for!!!
I guess once he's ready to talk he will. Maybe.
          Thanks to everyone who replied.
