SORRY Alee, have heard of it, but i think maybe people are scared of trying?
Understand that at the time that you post, the people that may have tried it or heard of it, aren't on line, so sometimes, you have to type something else on your thread so that it brings it up again for people to see it, ...

I had the Mirena which is was also a progestin only device. The Depo is the same type as well. Me personally can not take this type of birth controls, I need the type with the combined estrogen/progestin, which Nuva ring and the Patch has.
I did have the side effects you listed with both the Mirena and the Depo. Maybe you can get the depo first to see if progestin only agrees with you ? It'll last 3 months but at least they wouldn't have to remove anything if you hated it.Comment

Thank you both for your replies. I actually used the nuvaring for 2 1/2 years until I finally decided I wanted to try something different. Because that was my first form of hormonal birth control, I wanted to try the pill. I now remember why I had chosen the ring instead... taking a pill every day at the same time is difficult and it just makes me nervous. I feel very insecure that it just won't work for some reason. I have heard really aweful things about the depo shot and according to my gyn I'm not a good candidate for an IUD of any sort because I haven't had children yet... I just don't want to go on an emotional rollercoaster or gain a lot of weight. If you have any suggestions on a type of birth control that would help me avoid those two things that would be great! I've done my research, but I would really appreciate any advice or comments!Comment
