    BC lower my sex drive?

    Hello everyone,
Lately i've noticed a lower sex drive, and i'm very dry "down there" even when i'm turned on and ready to have sex. It's very frustrating, because i feel like i'm inadequate, because as soon as i feel that i'm still dry, i get really upset, because i can't "get wet" like i'm "supposed" to when turned on.

This has been putting a damper on my sex life, because i get discouraged. I'm also exploring masturbation because i've never had an orgasm, blah blah blah, that's another story all together, but, i need all the help i can get, so i don't need something preventing me from getting wet, or turned on.

Anyway, i switched from lowestrin24 to the generic version (cost reasons). that was 2 months ago, which would be the right time period for my lacking in "wetness" lol. So, can a BC do this? There has to be a difference in the pills, because before i only had 4 days of a period, and now i have a full 7.

Should i call my dr and ask for a change in prescription? I need an extra boost in my sex drive, not a decrease, i barely have a sex drive at all to begin with.

I swear that's how BC works. It just makes you never want to have sex. I was on Loestrin for a couple of years and I never wanted to have sex. Ever. I also had the dryness problem. I've been off it for about 4 years and the sex drive is back but the dryness problem never really got back to normal.

I just went off completely and use condoms for birth control. I was on loestrin to help with endometrosis and bad cramps and it seemed to get better when I went off. I think because I started really exercising a lot.
I don't know much about nuva ring but I'm sure plenty of posters on here do.

I agree that pills kill sex. Perhaps this is really how they prevent pregnancies...?

I've been on Ortho-Lo, Cyclessa, and now Velevet (Cyclessa generic) and throughout, my sex drive and lubrication have been low to nil, although I do have days that seem almost normal. The only reason I stick with it is because without the pills, my menstral cycles are too difficult to live with.

A friend of mine uses Apri and we was talking about this and she says it does not decrease sex drive AT ALL and it did not intefer with her lubrication, and her cramps are a lot better and shorter. She use to have HORRIBLE cramps, and her cycle was heavy. Apri is a cheaper pill also.

              birth control misery

              hey ladies,

I've been on bc for 19 years & had a dry spell but it chg. when I chg. the pill. the last pill I was on was seasonque-the four periods a year. absolutly fantastic. I guess sex drive has always been low until now. did not know tho, I've been on the pill since sexually active. got off it this year and three months later I couldn't go about my day without thinking, feeling, or having to have sex. wow great but alarming, could be my age to. by the way my hormones are perfect. and a side note, to get rid of PMS or bad CRAMPS try oranged flavored fish oil. it works.

I don't agree with popping pills, look what it does to your body! Seriously, would a man take a pill as a precaution against pregnancy even if it did alter drive and lubrication! No....they would not!

I would recommend having an IUD fitted, or if you've had your family, get sterilized. Or make him use condoms at least there'll be no damp patch to sleep in!
