    When to start the pill?

Hi. I just got the pill for the first time (the 28 pack) and I'm a tad confused. It says on the packet to start in the red section, but what I'm confused about is how that works. If I get my period on a Monday, I will be taking the sugar tablets for 5 days, but if i get it on a thursday for example, I'll only be taking the for two. The sugar tablets are Sat-Fri but the red section only begins on the monday. Therefore if I get it on a sat, I'll be going straight onto a yellow pill (proper one). Is this how it is supposed to work? Why would it be like that when I thought I was meant to be taking the sugar ones while I had my period. Is it just to regulate my periods to the pills? Please help!

Wait until you have your periods and on that day, start the red ones ( the sugar ones) they are basically only there to ensure you always "remember" to take the pill so it becomes routine, that's all...

Forget about days, just start the first red one, as soon as you have your period and by the way SMILE, no need to stress, life is too short.
