IUD strings in the way?

I am considering an IUD but am concerned about the strings getting in the way of manual sex. To anyone who has had or has an IUD: do the strings get in the way when fingering takes place?

You or your partner will virtually never notice the string.

I have had the iud in place for 3 months. I never noice the strings and neither has my partner. Since i have had it i notice its is more wetness when having sex.
