    Resuming the Pill

So I've been on the Pill for years but decided to take a month off when I knew I wouldn't be getting any action but now I want to resume my birth control and haven't had a period in 6 weeks. I've heard that when you stop it can take months to have a period again so is it ok to start on the pill at any point even though it's not during or after my period? I want the contraception protection. Thanks for any input.

I'm in the middle of this exact situation. What did you end up doing?? Someone please respond! I can't find an answer anywhere online.

I recently was forced to stop taking my birth control, but I am seeing my doctor on Monday to resume taking a different brand. I'll tell you what she tells me to do about it.

I'm not sure either. Ask your doctor when you go in for the new prescription!

On another note though, it's highly advised NOT to stop-and-start birth control pills like that. I mean if it's only one month of no action, then just continue to take the pill. Otherwise you risk seriously confusing your body.
