Ok so i was on Brenda for a year and i had no issues and no side affects what so ever! Then i switched to Yaz where over a month or two sex became impossible because my body wouldnt lubricate itself anymore. (I know this is a side affect of the pill)

So i have now switched to Estelle which is the same as Brenda theoretically but this problem is still the same.

Is it possible that Yaz has caused this to because permanent (for life even if i stop the pill)

or

If i stop the pill everything will go back to normal??

The idea of me causing this to myself is worrying. My boyfriend has suggested i stop the pill and we use condoms but will my body go back to normal if i did that?

I had that problem on Loestrin and it's finally getting better....6 years after I stopped taking it.

I just don't know what it is with these pills. In the 70s I never had these problems and never heard anyone complain of some of the problems they seem to cause now. I did read something that presented an interesting thought - don't know how true -
anyway the idea was that some of the researchers had problems with women being sexually active and/or using the pill and that some of these problems were consciously permitted. Not as a "punishment" but more as an acceptable reaction or situation. Can you imagine that if BC was made for men and it caused them as much trouble, say; ED, loss of sexual interest, permanently retracted testicals, whatever, that it would even make it to market? I bet not.

Personally I find my body responds differently with condoms. Without, I'm just as juicy as can be, with I can't stay wet enough during intercourse. He's had a problem for sometime with skin irritation so we've stuch with them even though we don't need the protection. It's a ****er.

But Saint I think your body would go back to normal once you got the stuff out of your system although as Sourpuss says it may take some time. We need better alternatives! Some of you young things need to become research chemists and work on this!!

Ugh, Yaz..

I'm on Yaz too. Though I've only been on it for about 3 months, I've definitely noticed that no matter how turned on I am, I'm totally dry.

I know it's the Yaz because, before going on it, I never had any trouble getting wet. In the past, I used to sometimes feel too wet.. if that's possible! My boyfriend and I had sex a few days ago and I even tore slightly. Aaaand, my libido seems to have taken a nosedive too. Blah.

I guess I'm only sticking with the Yaz because it's not giving me the physical side effects I've had in the past - nausea, increased appetite and weight gain. But, I would try experimenting with different pills if I were you. It's all about trying to find what's right for you and what side effects you're willing to live with. Good luck!

I agree! I think the world would be a much different place if men had their periods as well.

I talked with a doctor today and I've decided that the side effects of BC just are not worth it. She suggested using a spermicide film and a condom. Apparently the two together are just as effective as the pill. I know it will be an interruption, but at least I won't be a fat, dry, moody, lunatic with no sex drive.

Well, for the first 3 years after I went off, I was in a terrible (sexless) relationship so didn't really need birth control. Now I just use condoms, not ideal but I just can't go back to the hormone thing.

Spermicide basically kills sperm (just like the name indicates). My doctor today told me about a film that you just fold up really small and insert it and it dissolves into a gel and when used w/condoms is as effective as the pill.

If you stop birth control that will go away. It's a common side effect of all pills so several different ones may cause it. I'm on yasmin again and started having problems getting wet. I really don't find it to be a big deal. Out of all the side effects I could have and all the side effects I've had on other pills this one is pretty easy to solve and live with. I still feel everything just fine and I feel things much better than I did on lybrel. Lybrel was killing all feeling in my breasts and privates along with other problems. My sex life is back to normal again with yasmin. We just sometimes have to use a little extra lube or apply a sensitizing gel. Something like Liquid V causes a warm tingling sensation that makes things much more sensitive for a couple minutes and causes me to drench the sheets. Problem solved with a tiny drop of the maximum strength version on my clit.

"Same thing is mean't to be idential ingredients, cheaper boxing, therefore, cheaper product".

But, they may "skip" something, "add" something you need to read the ingredients on both boxes and you will ascertain if this is correct, which would be your answer.

I have been on Tryphasil for pfttttttt, you work it out I've never had a dry moment...

If something made things change, google and see if that occurs for others?

I'm thinking there's something in all of them except the first one you took, that your body reacts to so to speak.

Yeah theres been studies with yaz and its problems because of the amount of estrogen however what i mean by same thing is Brenda and estelle both contain the same amount of estrogen.

Really wish i didnt switch pills in the first place....sigh lol
