About to start taking birth control again, should I wait until after my period?

I've decided to start back up with my birth control but I feel like my period's coming on. Should I wait until it's through before starting the pack of birth control so as not to screw up my cycle?

You're actually supposed to start a new pack on a specific day related to your period. I actually can't remember... is it on the FIRST day of your period or on the first day AFTER your period finishes? In any case, I'd follow the directions, ask the pharmacist/doc, or they might already be printed on the pack.

Ahh, I'm lazy and wanted to skip reading the small print. But I will. Thanks.

You can start it any time but it's suggested to start them right after your period. It will line it up better with your usual cycle. If you start it at a random time it can take several more months to have it line up and you may get spotting in between.
