    Sperm of steel

I have had my iud for a year, and tested positive yesterday....the doctor confirmed that I am pregnant and due on my husbands birthday....this is my 2nd marriage and we are a blended family of 5 kids....we made the decision, after much heartache, to not have a child of our own , as we have a large family and are looking forward to the day that we have just us and then grandkids. We are in our early 40"s so we are not too old but not too young...but this is my 3rd pregnancy in roughly 2 years, and the first 2 times I was on the pill...it almost feels like someone is telling me that having a child was meant to be....and knowing that we are very happy with the family we have, this just might not fit into the equation. I am somewhat nervous of telling my hubby of this right now, and letting the doctors explain this to him...as I think I am in as much shock, thinking the iud was full proof. Maybe we need to resort to surgery, nothing else seems to work....I am just saddened as this was not planned...I have always dreamed of having a child with him...but it is just not in our plans

    *sigh*

So sorry. I know it's hard when you have your life and your goals and something like this comes up and makes you reevaluate everything.
    What about vasectomy?

Even with hubby having a vasectomy and going through all the scheduled followup's I was freaked for 2 years every time I was late. I hope you find a way to deal with this that will work best for you and your family.

Which type of IUD did you have? Hormonal or non?

Oh, I am sorry this happened.

I am sure you will come to a decision that will work out best for everyone, as it seems that the choices you are making are for all the right reasons!
