Okay so i have had the iud for about 2mounths now. Im just wondering if you can get pregnant while the iud is in? My boyfriend an i have sex without condoms alot. We have had a few pregnancy scares while on iud. I really wanna know can you get pregnant? has it happend to anyone?

I have had my IUD for 3 months. I don't worry about it. It's over 99% effective. It's rare that you can become pregnant, but it does happen. I say don't worry about it. Which kind do you have the hormonal or non-hormonal. If you have the hormonal type you might as well be sterile cause it's that effective. In what manner dd you have pregnancy scares?

The chance of you getting pregnant with the IUD is pretty much the same as with the pill. It CAN happen, but is so rare that it's essentially pointless to think about it.

In your situation, I don't think condoms are necessary, unless you want to use them for STI protection.
