Starting Loestrin, hoping to skip period on HM

So, my doctor had a thick accent and I had trouble understanding him, so I could use some clarification...

I had my last period on April 12. I'm getting married June 13th... and I just got back from the gyno with a pack of Loestrin and a prescription for more.

This is what I think I'm supposed to do, so correct me if I'm wrong and if this won't work:

    1. I'm not going to wait until my next period to start Loestrin, and instead start the pack now.
    2. I'm not going to take any of the brown pills/placebos until AFTER the honeymoon.

The doc said something along the lines of moving onto the next pack will only delay my period by a few days. I didn't get to ask about the above, because I was frazzled and pretty confused and still freaking out a little about that cold thing he stuck up my vag.

If I wait to start Loestrin on my next period, instead of starting now, will my chances of delaying the period longer be slimmer? Or the same? Because if it's the same, I'll just wait and save some money.

Also, I've read that taking Loestrin has made some ladies skip their periods. Is this accurate? I'm looking for that glimmer of hope...

    Thanks!

Your period will delay until the day you stop taking the regular pills and start of off week pills. I took Loestrin for a few years and took the regular pills for three months at a time so I'd only have 4 periods a year. It works. But I do think you should start taking them now so your body has a month to adjust.
