Implanon and sharp pain to the stomach

    Hi All
Has anyone who has the implanon inserted experience any sharp pain to the stomach area?

I have found that this has only occurred since the implanon was inserted in March of this year. I have only been having minor spotting and no period for two months, am entering in my third month.

    Hiya,

ive had implanon or around a year and have had both stomach and rib/chest pain and it is a sharp pain. My period cramps have gotten loads worse too but im due to have mine removed in around two weeks.

Good luck with yours and hope it works well for you!

      Thanks Little.Chuck.

I've never had the chest/rib pain before and hope not to experience that, that would freak me right out.

I am due to see my gyno in a few weeks so I might bring this observation to her, I am wondering if its just period cramping as it would be about that time but I've not seen any sign of a period on its way but minor spotting which is not heavy enough to warrant a tampon/pad

        hiya again

Just thought i should mention that the chest/rib pains are very hard to pinpoint. With mine it feels a bit like the pain is coming from inside my breast, somewhere behind the nipple. Its a little sharp but doesnt feel like its coming from or near the heart so it probably wouldnt alarm you much. However, i dont think it is actually from inside the breast either

My period cramps have gotten much worse so maybe that is the case with you too?

        Hope i helped goodluck

          Thanks for that advice

I am not sure, it could be period pain, I was thinking it could be that mainly. Whilst I've never skipped a period before, I am not sure what the period pain for that could be like. I have read that pain to the stomach is normal with the implanon as a side effect as to the chest/ribs area.

I'll be going to see the doc if the pain continues as I am not sure if its actually sick pain or the skipped period pain pain that I have.

                Hiya
It's been awhile since I've last logged on, the pain I was experiencing has been put down to a Kindney Stone (found out about Sept/October 10) however, I am pretty sure that is gone.

I must say I love the Implanon and it's doing its job for me.

I have the Implanon in for 2 and a half years now, and I think it's brilliant too.
I haven't had my period in over a year, and not complaining either! I've put on no extra weight and had no other side effects.

I was wondering about the pains you mentioned, because once a month i get period like pains which are usually strong but no period at all. Does this happen to you?

The pain I got was like that yes... I would suggest go to the doctor, get a urine test, a culture grown, also an ultrasound. When I mentioned that, they looked into testing for eptopic pregnancy, looked into cysts or growths on the kidneys, bladder infection, just to find out what the issue was.

My tests came back in with: nil on the etopic pregnancy, nil on the cysts on the kidneys, nothing in the urine, however my white cells where up, which indicated an infection, however, when I provided a urine sample a second time no infection was present, it was brought down to a kidney stone. I've not gone back now, should but it feels fine.

The pains use to last about two days max for me, and then go and had no particular pattern.
