I started taking the birth control pill for 8 days, to manipulate my menstrual cycle. I couldn't stand the side effects - approximately when should i get my period? Should it start fairly soon after? It has been 4 days with no sign.

What kind of side effects were you having?

It's hard to say when you'll get your period, at this point your body is most likely very confused. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't see anything for a month.

my side-effects were really bad stomach cramps leading to severe nausea, i just couldn't bear it any longer, so i had to stop. i had heard, from my sisters that their cycles returned after 4-5 days. is this typical?

Hey,
I was in the same boat as you ... I got horrible nausea and dizziness from the pill so stopped it the Sunday after starting the pill which was the 13th of June and it is now the 24th of June and I have not gotten any sign of period yet. Based on my regular cycles before starting the pill though my AF wasn't due until tomorrow but there is no sign of it coming (no bad cramps etc) I am confused too.

It;s not typical. But most women get their menstruation within week.
