Has birth control ever changed your sex drive?
I've been taking birth control for the longest time, due to having very bad and chronic cramps since I started having my period. Now, I have a boyfriend that I've been with for a while, and we have sex and it feels fine, but I just can't help to think it could be better. And I've read so many things about the effects of birth control... I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this as well?

I haven't personally noticed any difference in drive, but I've heard of MANY women say that they have.
Does he take his time with you, do lots of foreplay, make you orgasm, etc? Are you attracted to him? If the answer is "no" to any of these, it could be a circumstantial problem, not necessarily due to the pills. -
For me yes. I was taking Loestrin for about 3 years and about a year ago got a bf. And I noticed that my sex drive was non existent. It was to the point of ruining our relationship so I decided to get off the pill and am now with the paragard IUD. I've only had it for a month and I've already noticed a change in my sex drive. I'm not sure what pill you are on, but I would discuss this with your doctor maybe they can discuss some options."Life's a journey, not a destination." ~AerosmithComment

The pill definitely affected not only my drive but my ability to become lubricated. I genuinely just didn't want to have sex.
After going off of it, I have seen a huge difference.
At my next exam I'm going to discuss non hormonal options with my Dr, such as the cervical cap. I know alot of women think things like that are too much hassle....but for me, the hassle is better any day than all the negative effects I had from the pill.Comment

Actually yeah. Yaz was the worst. I've been with the same guy for 9 months (almost.). And when I was on yaz, during the first month I went from looking forward to anything, to not wanting ANY physical contact. It just didn't appeal to me. I'm on tricyclenlo now and I don't have that problem anymore. Different pills affect different people in different ways, I guess.Comment

the mirena coil completely killed my sex drive
as well has having other hideous side effects
the copper coil is pretty good if you dont want hormones, other than condoms thats pretty much all there is in the way of non hormonal birth control.
x'so why care for these petty obsessions? your designer heart still beats with common blood. and what if you could have genetic perfection? would you change who you are if you could?'Comment
