Had unprotected sex, missed two pills, & now spotting?
My & boyfriend I have always had unprotected sex because I've been on birth control, but two weeks ago, I missed two pills during the 2nd week of the pill, I take Aviane, and now I've been spotting, which changes everyday to little, none, or just a tiny bit more, but nothing like a period, and the color varies from red to brown. I'm still taking the pill everyday, and I'm not suppose to be getting my period for another week according to the pill. Anyone can help me with more information of what's going? Thanks! -
If you miss a pill and two, then the hormones in your body think that it is time for your period, which explains the spotting. Once you start taking them regularly your homrones will balance out, but you may be at risk for pregnancy. Try to take your pills every day and the same time. If you miss one pill you're okay for the most part, but anything beyond that makes the risk of pregnancy higher. -
Okay thanks, but i went to the doctors and took a pregnancy test, it came out negative, but she wanted me to come back to take another one just to be sure in a few weeks. She also said that b/.c i missed the pills, it probably altered my period cycle. So when I went in on tuesday, the spotting was ending, but it was bright red this time. She said that b/.c I'm on my sugar pill week of my pack (my period week), I should still spot until when my period usually ends. Or she gave me the option of starting a new pack the day so the spotting would end sooner. But, since that visit, I haven't gotten my period or been spotting at all. Should I go back and get it checked out? I usually get my period on Wednesday, but the spotting stopped on Tuesday. Its now Friday and I still haven't gotten my period...Comment

You should be ok. When I missed pills the last few years I was on the pill (tri-levelen generic) I spotted almost constantly the week after and didn't bleed regularly that placebo cycle. I'd start the new pack and keep an eye on things. Chances are, you'll spot a few more days during the new pack and then start your period as expected at the end.Comment
