I just have to say that I am so glad to find a place where other women who say that they love their IUD. Many other forums have post of the negative reactions of the ParaGard. I was scared about getting mine due to all of the post that I had came across. I am very happy with my decision to have the Copper IUD placed. I had mine placed three months ago and it has been just wonderful for me. I have only had one cycle during the three months and while it was a little heavier, it only last 4 days. That was actually the week that I had it placed. The first two weeks I was sore and could sense that it was there, not a painful experience, but just a feeling. Since then the only time that I can feel it is if I increase the weights or my workout routine. After a day I go back to almost forgetting that it is in there. I have not had any children so I was worried that my body would reject it (the chances are higher for those who haven't had children) but so far it has been a great experience for me. -

Well, it all depends I would suggest you go to IUD Divas. There is a big community of ladies who have great posts on just about any type of question you may have about the IUD.
In my experience I had my IUD(ParaGard-non hormonal) on October 28th of this year. Since then I have had NO PROBLEMS with it. Don't have any cramps at all. Yes, my period was alot heavier than normal, but I was able to deal with it. I was self-consious about it cause it was down there. Sex, well, lets just say that for me I want it almost all the time. I am also an active person. No problems in that department. I do P90X at the moment and I have had not issues with th IUD. I love my IUD cause I don't have to take hormonal birth control anymore and I was on HBC for 15yrs. I had had enough. The last HBC I almost was put on was the NUvaRing. The doctor was so kind enough to get me on my way with this hormonal birth control that I did not want. I specifically asked her if she could give me more info on non-hormonal IUD and she swayed be from getting one. But, I found a doctor that would and I have been happy so far with my IUD. Please go to IUD Divas.Comment

I just got my 1st copper IUD put in today. The process was a bit painful. Felt like bad cramps, pressure and a little bit of pinching. My partner and I don’t want kids so I figured this was easier than having a baby! It is 6 hours later and I have mild cramping and some pain. I also am stopping my period so the cramps are from that too. I was very tense during the insertion so the muscles in my pelvic area are sore. I am not at all worried about the possible sterilization because I never want kids and neither does my partner. Hope this helps.Comment

hi
I am a noob to this site but, found this site to be the most helpful reguarding the Copper T iud... all the feedback was great... I have 2 kids and am married we arent sure if we want any more children as of right now, after giving birth to my 2nd I have decided to get the Mirena ( bc i cant do pills due to major bloodclotting issues) so I spoke with my GYN about the mirena had it placed and that was a huge mistake... I felt preggers without the actual baby.. my emotions were haywire... i couldnt lose weight.. and was depressed and down all the time... so my girlfriends advised me about the copper T and how it has no hormones... my question to you well spoken and educated ladies is.... asides from the uncomfortable insertion, heavy periods, and cramping, have any of you experienced weight gain, or had difficulty losing weight. I am a workout person (if i have time for me considering my kids lol) i work out every other day... please give me any feedback it will be appriciated... My GYN appt is tomorrow and i plan on setting a date for the insertion (my periods are like clock work thank goodness) Im just a little worried about any other side effects that may affect me..
Thank you all again
