    Amoxiillin + OTC Lo

We made love just yesterday and am
Startin on amoxicillin today which from my understanding decreases the effectiveness of the birth control. The doctor says at urgent care clinic it doesn't and I don't believe him.
If it does, my husband and I have decided to abstain from sex throughout the course of antibiotics. but for a few days after too? How long?
Since we made love yesterday is the antibiotic I just swallowed gonna let those spermies swim around easier than if not taking the amoxicillin? Like, I know semen is vertile for awhile after ejaculation but how long and am I cool? Oh and FYI I am exactly the middle if my "cycle"

    Off of a pharmacy site
Women who use amoxicillin and hormonal birth control are advised to use an additional birth control method while they are taking amoxicillin and for one week after they are finished with their antibiotic treatment; women should not stop taking their hormonal birth control while they are on amoxicillin. The backup birth control method should be a barrier birth control product (e.g. condom, sponge or diaphragm), but it can not include another form of hormonal birth control.

Yes I understand and we are not having sex while I'm on it plus a couple
Days. But what about the ejaculation from
The day before i started the antibiotic? Doesnt the sperm stay alive and
All swimmy for like a week?

Nope, if it does not make it up to the egg within a short period of time they die because they cannot live in a vaginal environment for long.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
