Are your periods regular??? Exacly regular? You are taking huge chances. Sperm can live for 3 days in there! Pull out method? Your taking huge chances there. Do you know that they leak sperm without ejeculating? all it takes is 1 drop.
(edit) . there are obtions! I never wanted hormones so I've used a diaphram for 30 years with absolutely no problem!

      .
BTW condoms will be part of our birth control methods plus the ladycomp plus the pull out method.

The effectiveness will come from combining all these methods and using them as well as possible. A lot of these methods are user dependent.

If you gals feels like taking pills and shots or putting foreing objects and harming your bodies and your emotional state, then go for it. It's your choice.
But, I have assesed the risks and I have decided to go as natural as possible.
Condoms being the only exception I guess.

I suggest some of you take a look at the book Beautiful Disaster mentioned.
It's called "taking charge of your fertility."
Also, look into the lady comp. Gals and couples seem to love it and swear by it's effectiveness.

Best of luck to you all.

Education will be paramount, however watch where you get your education for. Things like wikipedia are good for general stuff but should not be used as an absolute measure of education, much further reading is required to get a full undrstanding. Blogs, very poor location for education as many people will of course write over generalization of situations as to promote their ideas onto others (especially if they conveniently are selling something on their site). That and they often lack even formal education in the material, again a wiki reader turning their readings into a blog of 'facts' is not going to help you out. Watch out for "its proven it worked for us" testimonials, as many will be written simply to sell the product not to promote anything reliable about it. Just watch and be good about judgment, you know what you are looking for so I am sure you can make the best call for your personal interests.

I'd like to add that pills are not only used as a form of birth control, but they also help in cases of ovarian cysts, hormonal issues and much more and at times are prescribed by doctors independently from a woman's sex life from a young age.

We are all going to be taking some kind of pill at some point in our lives, we can't make it up to 70 "naturally". Even tap water isn't "natural". I don't know how you got the idea that everything is harmful but I'd highly recommend you discuss your methods with your gyn before you decide your final approach based on your own research.

IDK condoms, pulling out, combined with whatever else...why not just use your hands and tongues. Why bother with only sort of intercourse? But to each there own. Guess I'm old school it just wouldn't do it for me.

Also, don't forget that the hands are the dirtiest body part! And the mouth is the one with the most chances to bleed. So, not good...

For most women who don't want to take hormonal birth control, I'd venture to say that it's because of the way those "unnatural" methods make them feel. I can say this was definitely the case for me. I wasn't sitting here saying "These birth control chemicals are going to cause me to get cancer!"........I was sitting here saying "I have no sex drive, I'm exhausted all the time, I'm losing a lot of hair, I'm bloated constantly, I'm an emotional rollercoaster, I'm either not having a period at all and cramping all the time, or spotting every two weeks.......this CAN'T be good for me." It is far less an issue of "toxins" than it is the way these "toxins" make us feel. For those of you who are lucky enough to not have these ill side effects, consider yourself very lucky. For the rest of us, we have no other choice but to educate ourselves on our bodies, how they work, and how we can avoid pregnancy without hormonal birth control.

For me, no I do not enjoy sex with condoms as much as sex without. But am I willing to put my body through what I put it through for 10 years, just to have that? Nope. I made the decision that no sex was worth my physical well being. And as a result, I know more about my reproductive system than I ever imagined I'd know....and simply cannot believe how much I DIDN'T know before I read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and began using FAM.
                    "Be what you're looking for."

So people didn't live past 70 when drugs didn't exist?
Do you know that many doctors are given bonuses by drug industries if they promote or sell their products (ie birth control, hormones)?
Are you aware there's multiple class action lawsuits from woman with irreversible or serious diseases caused by these so called safe pills/shots?
I won't get into the corruption that exists in big pharma. That's for each of you to do your own research.
I'll say this... You trust big pharma and the medical industry too much my friend.

If you have done more research you'd also know that birth control pills have been linked to many types of cancer (mainly breast and cervical) and cardiovascular disease plus many other diseases. Not to mention all the side effects that many woman suffer. It's funny how people tell me to read and research when I clearly see that it's the other way around. Many seem contempt with what they already know and assume that they already know what needs to be known. Did you read the book that beautiful disaster mentioned? I would guess no. I would guess many here would not give it a chance because it contradicts with what you already believe or don't believe.

Again, It's your body and your choice to take pills, hormones and what not.
                      Are they convenient? Maybe!
Are they safe? My opinion is absolutely no.
