Spotting
I've been on Tri-cyclen Lo for about 5 months now and everything was running perfectly up until 2 months ago. I am not perfect when taking my pills...I sometimes miss one or two but take them as soon as I remember. My partner and I, however, do not use back up when I miss my pills. I know I should, but we really don't like condoms. He ejaculates inside me every time and now I am a little bit worried. The last couple months, right in the middle of my cycle I have experienced some light spotting, but I always menstruate during the time I am supposed to. The spotting varies between light pink and brown. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? -
The rule of thumb is: miss one pill, take 2 the next day. miss two pills, must start new pack and use backup protection throughout next full cycle. Continuing this type of practice is basically saying, "I want to get pregnant" without actually saying it. Know what I mean?
The spotting, like Lana said is most likely a result of not taking the pill regularly. It could also be implantation bleeding resulting from pregnancy.
Set the alarm on your phone to remind you, every single day, at the same time (after a meal is always good) to take the pill. If you can't do that...it will be best to find a different method of BC.
