Basically I wanted to know if there is any chance I could be pregnant. Last month I took the pill on time every single day, without missing a single one. Then I went on my week break, as stipulated, and had my period. I had protected sex during my week break on my period, knowing that come Tuesday, I would not be able to start again with my pills as I hadn't ordered my new pack. Is there any chance I could be pregnant? Ever since I swallowed the last pill of last month, I have always had protected sex with no condom breakage. Could I still be pregnant?

Microgynon 30 combined contraceptive- have I messed up?
Hi guys,
Basically I wanted to know if there is any chance I could be pregnant. -
No.
The pill keeps you from ovulating, so there was no chance you were ovulating up until the point you went off your period. Your only risk of pregnancy is after you stopped taking the pill, but it sounds like you protected yourself by using condoms. If there was no condom breakage, then there's no pregnancy. -
Thanks for your reply
I actually phoned NHS direct to be sure. (That's the UK health system's number) They told me even if I hadn't used condoms during my week break it would be unlikely I could get pregnant. She explained that the pills taken in the month beforehand are significant enough in dosage to ensure a woman doesn't get pregnant in her week off. However, if I had had unprotected sex after my week off, then obviously there is a risk. She told me that I had been doubly cautious, as I had the effects of previous months' pills in my system and used condoms correctly. Therefore it was very very unlikely I would be pregnant.Comment
