    At my wits end

Ok, first off I have 2 children. A 5 year old son and a 4 month old girl. I had never been on birth control prior to having my daughter. At 5 weeks post partum my doctor started me on Micronor because I am breastfeeding. 2 weeks later I was irriated and burning. I waited to see my doctor because the symptoms would come and go.

Well a couple weeks ago I used over the counter monistat and it stopped the aggrivation for a few days. I went to my doctor who gave me Keflex for a UTI and a new birth control Lo Loestrin fe because Micronor was causing a lot of breakthrough bleeding.

After finishing my Keflex I started having itching and burning again so I got Diflucan. I took the Diflucan yesterday so I am waiting to see if it helps.

Anyway, my new birth control has KILLED my sex drive. I don't even want to be touched, and I feel weird and look like I'm 5 months pregnant again! I've only been on it a week, but I don't want to gain weight or not be interested in sex!

I'm so fed up with birth control and wish I didn't have to use it. It's caused me nothing but trouble but honestly with my fiance we have to use something or I'll get pregnant again, and we both hate condoms.

I feel like I'm out of options and I'm tired of having constant vaginal problems now. I NEVER had to deal with this before!

I know condoms aren't ideal but I would suggest you go off hormonal birth control right now and use condoms at least while you think of a plan B. All of these side effects aren't worth it, I'm sure you'll agree.

Are you two planning on having more children? If not there's always the option of vasectomy... which, worst comes to worst, is reversible.

Considering you've had two kids already I would also suggest looking into UTIs, either the paraguard or mirena. The first is non-hormonal, the second has a very low dose of hormones.

FemCap is a viable option. I've purchased one, haven't actually used it yet, but I'll always have it as a possible alternative.

I think as women we sometimes are ready to put our bodies through ANYTHING, in an attempt to adapt to some form of birth control. I'd encourage you to put some of the responsibility on to your fiance instead of continually on yourself.

I decided last night that I'm not taking my BC anymore. We will just have to use condoms until I can get into my doctor to discuss Essure. It's a permanent non surgical sterilization for women. We don't want any more kids and I didn't want to have to go under to be fixed, but we found Essure last night.

I'm just tired of constantly being in pain down there. The only link is the BC. I never had an issue before and we are both disease free and my pap's always come up clean, so I'm hoping it hasn't caused any damage.
