OK, sounds like spotting is common enough after starting the pill, but how about without the pill? I recall this happening to me sometimes before I even started the pill. Do you think there is anything to be concerned about or is it just that I wasn't aroused enough at the time like you said?

The symptom you told is common for starting birth control pills and implantation bleeding. So, it is hard to say that what it is. You just wait till missed periods and take a pregnancy test after 2 to 3 weeks of missed periods.

Im on Generess Fe [not yet completed a month], but i had spotting since 1st day..[which i suppose is normal]. But Since last 5 days Im having my periods with heavy cramps and bit of nausea, though I have not yet reached till the brown pills in the packet [the last 4 ones]. Is this normal? Or ideally when we should expect periods [when we are on last 4 brown pills] ?

It can take several months for your body to line up with the birth control pill cycle. Best to use extra protection the first month. If you still have problems after 3-4months on a 1 month pill cycle then it's time to try a new one. You can get extended cycle pills that only have your period after 3 months which can take longer to adjust to. For a lot of people despite there being dozens if not 100 types of bcp out there only a handful may work without bad side effects.
