    Tri-Sprintec, and a missed pill, and a day-late period.

Hello. I've been taking Tri-Sprintec since late December.

I've been starting my period on my 3rd-4th placebo pill.

Today was the 3rd pill, and not even a cramp!

I wouldn't be so worried, but I messed up this month.

I take my pill at 3pm every day, always!

So on 4/20 I took my pill at 3pm.

On 4/21 at 4:00-ish (an hour after I was supposed to take my pill) my husband and I had sex.

I didn't remember my pill until 10:00pm that night!

What is the risk? I took the pill 7 hours late. What's the chance that I even am pregnant? When should I just go ahead and take a pregnancy test?

Please give me advice. Even though I'm 23, I'm new to this kind of fear! I am NOT in the position to be pregnant right now.

I guess I'm hoping someone will say, "7 hours late still is okay." Please please please!

From now on I'm going to have a rule where I check my packet before even thinking about sex! Just to make sure I didn't miss the pill! I don't care if it's romantic or not. It's still a lot sexier than condoms! LOL.

Thank you so much for helping me!

Yes, 7 hours late you should still be okay. Any pill I've ever taken, the packet says you can miss one whole day all together and as long as you resume the regular schedule and don't miss anymore, you should still be protected against pregnancy. One pill will not completely make you suseptible to pregnancy, unless you've missed several within the month. Sometimes, even when on the pill, a woman has a wacky period. You didn't even miss 24 hours.

But- just in case, if you don't get your period in about a week, take a HPT and find out. most likely it will come out negative, but it will at least give you peace of mind!

I think you will be fine, especially since you are on your third placebo and you say that you have sometimes started on your fourth.

My boyfriend and I have been using the pill for a year and a half. There have been several times (maybe a dozen) when I forgot mine at bedtime and had to take it the following morning instead, 7 to 10 hours late, and I've never had a pregnancy scare. So try not to worry.

Thank you so much, guys for your help! I finally started my period and I'm not worrying about this so much any more. I had no idea 7 hours late was no big deal. The packet said to be sure to take them at the same time every day, and I've taken that rule very seriously. Maybe too seriously, haha!
