This is ridiculous, but I want to know what you would do.

I've been on birth control since October 2011, and I take my pills religiously. Up until last night, I only missed one pill, and that was when I first started taking them, so it isn't a big deal now.

I was hanging out with some friends and ended up spending the night without any of my stuff (I didn't think I needed to run back home and grab anything). Taking my pill didn't even cross my mind until I tried to go to bed. I was so mad at myself when I remembered, and I had to wait 16 hours before I could take it.

I haven't seen my boyfriend in a month and a half because he's out of state visiting with his family, but he will be home the first week of August. Thank God I didn't miss a pill after just having sex, that would have freaked me out even more...but anyway. This is the first time I've missed a pill in months, and I know that when you've been taking them for a while and you only miss one, you don't need a back-up method as long as you take the one you missed when you can and take the next one at the usual time. And even then, you'd only need a back-up method for 7 days. It's going to be more than 7 days the next time I have sex. Does it matter that it was my first Saturday pill in the pack? That would only matter if I just started taking the pill, right? I'm an over-thinker...

More than likely, we're going to have a lot of sex when he comes home, so my question is should I use a back-up method just in case? We haven't been using condoms because they hurt him (and it feels better without them; we've been together for over a year and have only had sex with each other, so STDs aren't an issue). I'm thinking about picking up some spermicide and making him pull out the next time we do it. I don't think it would be fair to make him wear a condom when we've gone so long without them, and when by the time he comes home, it will be two months without sex. If I asked him to, he would, I just don't want to make him do that. I'm 16 and I don't have a lot of cash, so I'm not sure what other options I have contraceptives-wise. Shots and diaphragms and all those fancy things are expensive.

It should be fine, what you said is correct, if you've been taking them for a while without missing any you'll be on track again in seven days. I would go ahead and have sex (as that was your actual question!). Enjoy the 'reunion'!
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.
