Half the month I'm a different person.

On my third month of taking Apri Birth Control. For the first two weeks of the month my depression is accented. No sex drive and general brain activity is sluggish. I cannot get energy no matter how much I sleep, drink water or caffeine. In general it's hard to function.

By the third week and a day I am happy, cheery, normal functioning person. This continues through the next week during my period. Life is good during these two weeks except that I know the Sunday after my period will start two weeks of being a zombie.

Please give me some insight. I originally started Birth Control to balance out emotional imbalance over a few months, but instead I just made it more dramatic on a smaller amount of time.

    Thank you.

Tell your doctor. Is this a side effect of the pill?

YEah, def try switching to another pill or form of contraceptive. There are many that have weight gain side affects and some that are mostly hormonal, mood changes or sweating. that kind of stuff. Listen to your body. If it goes away after a month its usually your body trying to get used to it. But if it doesn't then find another kind. They have some that aren't as much of a drop or increase in the hormones during the pills I remember I took something easier on me the last time I was on the pill. I'm not on anything right now though. I got off the depo provera shot after I was spotting for 6 months straight. It sounds horrible , but the first time I ever took the depo shot I had it for 2 years and the second year I didn't get a period at all. I think everything depends on how you are at the moment too. unless they changed the formula within those years. But go see your doctor and I'm sure you'll end up on something else.
attitude..it follows us around. It can be like a smelly sock or a sweet perfume. Others can tell. Be confident.
