Hey i just wanted to know what happens when a girl is on the birth control pill and she is on her period. I know the bc pill stops ovulation but then does ovulation occur just before the period?

The pill doesn't just stop ovulation. it changes the whole monthly hormonal pattern that causes ovulation. During your week of inactive pills, you don't really have a period; instead what you have is a hormone withdrawal bleed. If you have been taking the pill the right way, there's no ovulation at any time of the cycle. That's why it is safe to have sex even when you're taking the inactive pills. -

As long as your pills are working correctly, yes.
