HELP! Question on my birth control

I received birth control today and the first week is sugar pills. I believe I will start my period soon but have a weekend planned with my hubby and would like to avoid it. Is it okay if I start after the 7 pills today and just take them the 4th week?

HELP! Question on my birth control

Yes. My cousin often skips when she goes on holidays by doing this.

Even if it's the first 7 days? and I haven't started yet but I need to just make sure I don't start this weekend. It's my first pack of this so I just want to make sure. I'm going to start on day 8, then do the sugar pills the 4th week.

You probably won't be fully protected, so be sure to use condoms. Depending on what you're on, it could take up to 30 days to fully protect you against pregnancy.

I agree with Rosekitten, sorry for misunderstanding I assumed you were already on one prior and just getting another brand.

I believe, if you were on one prior, and this is a new brand, you would be covered, but err on the side of caution and use other forms of birth control.
