Help! Birth control question; potential pregnancy?

I've been on birth control (this particular brand) for 4 months now and have always gotten my period normally about 2 days after my last active pill. This last month, I had sex on the day of my last active pill and he finished inside me. I'm a little paranoid because I read that sperm can live inside the body for up to five days and can get you pregnant during that time if an egg is released. I didn't get my period on the second or third day but decided to start a new birth control pack instead of waiting for it (stupid idea). I take my pills at 10:30PM so I took it normal time on the third day of my sugar pills. I'm paranoid because a.) I didn't get my period during those 3 days as I normally do and b.) I have a BUNCH of early pregnancy signs that I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid about.

Anyone else have something like this happen to them before? I still have two weeks left on this pack of pills so I don't know if I should stop taking them to see if I get my period or if I should just wait until I've finished the pack.

Sorry for the long post I'm freaking out.

If I'm reading this right, you should have had your period two weeks ago? Instead of taking the full 7 days of placebo pills, you only took 2-3 of them. That will absolutely preempt your period.

But if you are really paranoid, a pregnancy test should be quite accurate at this point. They are accurate, generally, on the first day of your missed period - you could have taken one instead of starting the new pack of pills.

If the test is positive, you need to call your doctor to find out what to do about your prescriptions.

I did take a test and it came back negative but I'm just super paranoid because all of these things that never happen to me are suddenly happening and they're all early pregnancy signs. Hopefully I'm just psyching myself out... Thank you!

If I'm understanding this right, you were afraid that since it was the end of your active pills when you had sex that you might get pregnant during your inactive/placebo week? Is that right?

If so, you don't need to worry about that in the future. As long as you start your new pack on time, then the pill continues to protect you during the inactive/placebo week. I tend to be hornier for several days before I'm due, so my boyfriend and I often have sex during the last two or three of my active pills and the first half of my inactive week. (My last active pill is on Saturday, and because I'm usually so horny that weekend we often have sex on that Friday, Saturday, or both, and we also tend to be more active Sunday through Tuesday.) He always finishes inside me, and we haven't had a pregnancy scare yet.

I agree with Little that if you started your new pack a few days earlier that's why you probably skipped your period.

Well that is super super reassuring. Thank you so much. Actually I wasn't worried at all until my breasts suddenly got sore. They've been sore for about 5 days and I never ever get sore breasts so that's why I freaked a little bit.

I'm experiancing something similar. Sorry to ask on someone else's thread but no one is replying on mine so here it goes...

I'm on Diane 35 and have been for 6 months. During the first week of my previous pack I took one pill 8 hours late. On the 27th of oct, my first day on the sugar pills or placebo, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex but he pulled out. Two days later I got my period like normal. That saturday, my first day of my active pills, we had unprotected sex again and he pulled out. For three days I had quite a bit of brown discharge. From monday I've had really bad stomach pains and nausea. My doctor said I might have pelvic inflammatory disease but I'm not so sure. Is it possible that I'm pregnant? I still have to wait 2 and a half weeks before I can see if I've missed a period and would appreciated your help. Thanks
