Spotting while on BC for 2 years, and after having sex

    Hi,

I'm new here. Please help me out...

I've been taking birth control pills for over 2 years, and I have never had any problems because of them. I take my BC pills for 21 days, then I take a 7 days break, when I have my period. I have 4 days left (to take BC) until my one week break.
Today I noticed some brown discharge and I got really scared. I guess this is spotting, right?
The things is, I haven't been sexually active in the last year, up until 3 weeks ago. I've had sex a couple of times with my boyfriend, he never ejaculated in me, and we didn't use condoms. Could I be pregnant?
I just took a pregnancy test, and it came out negative.
    What should I do next?

Medicines, such as birth control pills, sometimes cause abnormal vaginal bleeding. You may have minor bleeding between periods during the first few months if you have recently started using birth control pills. You also may have bleeding if you do not take your pills at a regular time each day.

Wait a week and take another test. If you are still concerned after that test . Go see a Gyno.

I so wish that the Dr's that Prescribe the Pills, would spend enough time with the Patient to inform them of possible side effects, to answer any questions and to explain the Importance of reading the little Booklet that comes with the Pill Packs .
This does not mean , skim the "when to take part" and throw the booklet away. It means actually read it from Front to Back, Google or Bing any words or parts you may not understand .

With that said. We are not Dr's here, we can only guess or suggest or share what we have found out ourselves . The Best thing is if Concerned, see a Dr.
I'd also advise you do some Research, on WH (this Site ) and Others , Search " Spotting while on BC " . There are tons of the Same type of Questions and different Answers or shared Experiences on sites worldwide.
The Best sites will be Medical Sites.

But this one is Best for Support .

Good Luck and try not to worry .. Educate yourself, then you'll have less Worry and Stress .

      Thank you for your response.
That's what I read too - birth control pills can sometimes cause minor bleeding during the first few months, but I take the same type of BC for 2 years, and I have never had this type of bleeding before.
It's true, the Dr who prescribed me BC pills didn't gave me too much information about them; he just said they should be fine for me.
Last week I went to another Dr for a Pap smear, and I got my results a couple of days ago... everything's okay. I plan to go again after taking a new pregnancy test next week, but until then I just wanted to know what are the chances to be pregnant.
