    What are my options?

Okay so... I got a boyfriend about a month ago, and he's really accepting and more than happy to wait for me, great right? Well I'm interested in taking that next step, but I want to be on some form of birth control.

So today I went to my local teen health center and spoke to them. It turns out that because I have frequent migraines the pill may not be a viable option. I'll find out though because I already have an MRI scheduled for my migraines. I was told this because the migraine may be neurological which means I could get blood clots in my brain if it turns out to be from that.

My question is though, what other options do I have if I cannot take the pill? I've heard something about a ring or something that I can put in for a long time?

The only medication I'm on right now is Tylenol 2's for my migraines. I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

If they do not want you taking the pill all hormonal birth control is out including the ring and mirena iud. Aside from your standard otc birth control there are copper non hormonal iuds like paragard.

There is also a needle you can get! I don't know too much about it, but my brothers girlfriend gets it once every couple of months, just a needle in the arm and your set! Hope that helps

That's a form of hormonal birth control. They just inject the hormones instead of taking them orally.
