I've been on this medicine about 3 years without many issues.

So the month before this one my period started a few days early and lasted a couple days longer. I blamed that one on stress due to my living condition and so forth.

Well this month I'm having some unsual light pink and brownish spotting about a week and a half before my next menstrual cycle is due. I am not certain what to blame this one on. I feel like perhaps my birth control isn't balanced correctly? Should this be a concern to me as far as preventing pregnancy or will this only affect my menstrual cycle in the way that it is?

Should I switch my birth control?

I have started taking YASMIN birth control pills 12 days ago on december 21st and it was my first day of my period. But today i was scared while having sex with my husband that i had pink bleeding for few minutes and wiped them out and when i urinated the pink thing appeared too but disappeared later, and yesterday at night i witnessed a small pink spot on my underwear. I had a home pregnancy test and it is negative.
I am scared i could have an ectopic pregnancy because i heard that it doesnt appear in home tests. I feel so scared could i be pregnant? Or this is a normal symptom of birth control pills. And by the way when i took the pills on my first period day, the period was lighter than usual and shorter ( i used to have a 6 days period ) but after taling the pills i had a 4 days period. Thanks for any help on advance.
