No judgements on my personal life please: A friend of mine and I hooked up about 5-6 weeks ago and we didn't use a condom and because we aren't in any type of relationship, plus currently not wanting kids, I took Plan B one step, after that about a week and a half later I started on bc...I haven't had sex since then and if this was an ovulating month the day I had sex would have been prime baby making time.... but then I started feeling queasy and headaches- all the normal pregnancy/ starting the pill side effects....I started looking into the effectiveness of plan b and the pill was taken within the first 24 hrs but I've gotten conflicting reports of it being 75% to 93%....2 weeks into the pill I started bleeding which would have been when I was suppose to start but I'm nearly done with my first month and I haven't stopped light bleeding since. I'm a little concerned about it all....could this be spotting because of pregnancy or from starting the pill? Please give thoughts on if this is normal or abnormal and that I need to get a hpt or call my doctor.

Hi Red, welcome to the Forum.

Taking the pill, changes your whole hormones.. It is foreign, new and therefore your body needs adjusting.

What you need to be wary of is next month, if you still feel strange, as the dose of the pill is different to each individual person.

In my "opinion" the pill is 99% effective and as you haven't had sex since and took plan B, then commenced the pill... You are fine.

Thank you so much....this constant bleeding is annoying and everytime I think it has stopped it starts back....I was just concerned about everything and I will post on another topic...honestly even though I'm in my mid twenties I was chicken to actually buy a hpt if next month I have anymore changes ill break down and do it...I live in a very small town and almost anywhere I would get a hpt I know someone that works there....my town is super judgemental and if its negative then someone knows my business
