Side Effects of Taking Plan B Twice in One Month?

I have had some bizarre changes in my menstrual which I believe are an effect of taking Plan B twice in one month. My last "real" period was on December 23rd. I had taken Plan B earlier that month (first or second week in December). I had no problems that month and my period came when I expected it (Dec 23). About a week later I had sex and the condom slipped off during intercourse. As a precaution I took Plan B again. I am not worried about pregnancy since it was only a week after my period and we did use a condom (though I don't know at what point it slipped off). My cycle is about 35-45 days so I can only assume that it is very unlikely I had ovulated only a week after my period. Several days later I had symptoms of what seemed to be a yeast infection (slight discomfort and thick discharge) but only lasted for less than 48 hours. By January 4th I began to have a heavy dark brown discharge which ultimately turned into bright red, heavy bleeding like a normal period and lasted 4-5 days. Last week (February 11th) I experienced light pink spotting and a very small amount of blood and continued to lightly spot for 2 days. Now, it's day 45 and I just started to feel those same sensations of a yeast infection (slight redness, minimal discomfort and thick discharge). Has anyone taken Plan B twice in one month and had weird side effects? The longest cycle I've ever had is 51 days, so I'll grab a pregnancy test then if nothing has changed. What is your experience with Plan B? What do you think of these symptoms? All other comments are welcome!

Well, I took Plan B twice within about a two day period. First because of a slippage issue and then again because a few days later the condom straight-up broke. (I realize now that apparently the effects of the morning after pill last for about 72 hours sooo it was a bit of overkill on my part, whoops. Better safe than sorry? Anyway.) I had light-to-moderate bleeding about a week and a half after I took the pills but it wasn't quite a period. I usually get my period on the 19th of each month, but after this whole fiasco I ended up getting it later than usual, on the 31st instead. And it was very short. And now, today on the 18th, I got my period so I'm guessing I'm back on schedule again. Hopefully. Two periods in one month for me because of all this. I'm not exactly celebrating, but it's better than none at all, lol.

Basically, the only real side effect I seemed to experience was that extra bleeding for a few days about a week after I took the pills and it was a lot lighter than a period, so I'm thinking it was just bleeding. I didn't have any kind of yeast infection type symptoms, but I did notice that I smelled a little stronger than usual, down there. So who knows? :/

I don't know how much that helped, but I figured I'd share.

Also: I took the pills on Dec. 25th and Dec. 27th, then didn't end up getting my period until Jan. 31st, to give you a little more of a timeline.

With my experience I got my period as scheduled after taking Plan B the first time. I took Plan B again about two weeks later, I am on the pill but obviously a huge worrier. I won't ever do that again. I didn't get my period for a month and half after taking Plan B the second time, and when I finally got it, it was super light. That month and a half was hell. I was freaking out, I was super bloated the entire time and I also had the yeast infection type symptoms. I didn't experience any bleeding during the month and a half.
I'm supposed to get my period next week so hopefully everything will start going back to normal.

That's my story, hope it helps a bit!

It's good to hear that people have had somewhat similar experiences. Unfortunate, but puts me at ease. I certainly won't be using Plan B ever again. I have felt bloated all month, and my attitude has been on an emotional rollercoaster. I consider myself to be extremely patient, but all month the tiniest things have made me so angry! Yeast symptoms continued today and I purchased some Monistat. Plan B just seems to make hormones so crazy.. I'm assuming it's the cause of all this. It's day 49 and I get short tinges of lower back and abdominal cramps every now and then. Look forward to the return of normalcy...

I just wanted to update in case anyone in a similar situation is looking for answers. I've been cramping for over 3 weeks, constant soreness, and extremely irritable. Finally started period today, 59 days after my last one! My cycles are usually 35-45 days long, so I guess the box is right; your period can be a couple weeks late. If you are looking for answers I hope this helps put you at ease!

So glad I've found this thread.. I too have taken plan b in a month, well over a month ago now I got my period when it was supposed to come which was good, carried on having abdominal pains which is very annoying but more annoying than anything is the state my face is in due to it.. I've always never had a problem with spots my face is very clear but now I've got some for of acne it's disgusting literally heartbroken! My periods due in a week and for the past week I have bloated so bad I look 3 months pregnant, I've gone back on cerezette to try and control and bring some from of normality back to my body.. Honestly can't cope! I've never had a problem in the last with taking the morning after pill but never again will I take it a week apart.. Lesson learnt! I've taken about 7 pregnancy test due to the bloat all negative I'm just hoping my period comes on time this month.. Plan b you have well and truly knackered my body!
